At full build-out, the FasTracks system will comprise 122 miles of new commuter rail and light rail, 18 miles of bus rapid transit, 21,000 new parking spaces at light rail and bus stations, and enhanced bus service across the Denver metro area. This system will need to be constructed by skilled professionals. Additionally, as construction begins and continues in the various communities throughout the FasTracks region, that construction will stimulate further job growth in the affected communities; the engineers and construction workers working on the system will need to get gas, eat, and buy supplies somewhere! Once construction is complete, of course transit professionals will be needed to operate and maintain the system.

  • Full build-out of the FasTracks system would create more than 10,000 jobs a year-- 4,000 jobs constructing FasTracks and more than 6,000 stimulated by the project.
  • If the funding gap cannot be closed, thousands of these jobs will be lost.
