Colorado mining officials have released draft regulations aimed at tightening oversight of uranium mining operations in the state. The proposed rules — the result of bills passed by the state legislature in 2008 — are open to public comment and a public hearing is scheduled in April. The regulations would cover both hard-rock mining and in-situ mining, a technique that hasn't been used in Colorado, where uranium is flushed from the ground and collected through wells....
