SEN. KEN Salazar has revived legislation to create a federal wilderness area in Browns Canyon just east of the Arkansas River between Nathrop and Salida. The bill would designate as wilderness about 20,000 acres of U.S. Forest Service land in Chaffee County. The area was first recommended as a wilderness study area by the Bureau of Land Management in 1991....
