Recent proposed legislation to designate the Browns Canyon Wilderness Study Area, a combination of 7,921 acres of Bureau of Land Management land and 12,104 acres of U.S. Forest Service land, has generated significant public interest and comment. Given the renewed interest and some apparent confusion in recent accounts, I want to take a moment to explain BLM’s management of this area....
