- Earth Day in Grand Junction - Sunday, May 6th, 11am-5pm FOND will have an outreach table at this year’s Earth Day Celebration on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction. If you are interested in volunteering by helping to set-up/breakdown and or signing up for an hour or two at the booth please contact Kate Graham at 970-243-0002 or kate@ourcolorado.org.

- 'Star Party' Campouts - With the expert assistance and incredible generosity of members of the Western Colorado Astronomy Club FOND supporters have come to enjoy fall and spring star parties for the past 3 years! - Calamity Camp Trail Day & Historic Mining Celebration - Volunteers worked with BLM to improve vehicular access to the new and improved Calamity Camp interpretive site and later joined local community members at Gateway Canyons Resort to celebrate common heritage with BBQ, stories from days past, and music! - Hunting for Juanita Arch - We've hiked to this incredible sandstone arch a few times approaching from both the bottom (crossing the Dolores River via canoe) and from the top! Both have been a blast! Check out photos from the most recent trip here!
- Re-Constructing the Flume - This multi-dimensional heritage event, a collaboration between KAFM Community Radio, Friends of Northern Dolores, The Museum of Western Colorado, The Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic and Historic Byway Association, and The Western Colorado Interpretive Association, included a traditional slide show presentation about the Historic Hanging Flume by local resident, flume expert, and Byway President Jerald Reid. - Hanging Flume Reconstruction & Heritage Hike - This educational heritage hike with BLM Archaeologist Glade Hadden provided participants the oppotunity to view the reconstruction of 48ft of flume while also exploring historic access routes used during its original construction.
