This interactive program helps citizens get involved in pressing policy issues at the state legislature, and encourage their lawmakers to vote in support of pro-environment bills. The Capitol Watch program is a blend of legislative education and environmental action. Capitol Watch Captains and Activists work throughout the session to ensure that their legislators vote to protect the environment by writing letters to the editor, contacting their representatives, and talking to other CEC members. As a Capitol Watch Captain or Activist, you will receive the inside scoop on priority legislation and will be provided with many options to take action and make a huge difference at a statewide level!
Being a Capitol Watch Captain only requires 5 hours of your time per month during the legislative session, January-May. We will have regular meetings in both Grand Junction and Denver.
